FROM KIRKWALL AIRPORT

When you leave Kirkwall Airport turn right and follow the A960.  This road will then lead onto Deerness Road, followed by Bignold Park Road and Dundas Crescent and finally, Palace Road.  Here, you will see St. Magnus Cathedral on the right hand side.  Once you reach the bottom of Palace Road, turn left onto Victoria Street (one-way street) and the hotel is on your left hand side.

FROM FERRY TERMINAL, STROMNESS

When leaving the ferry terminal, turn right and follow Ferry Road onto the A965 out of Stromness.  The A965 then goes through the villages of Stenness and Finstown before reaching Kirkwall.  Follow Hatston Brae into Kirkwall and then turn right into Pickaquoy Road.  Turn left at the roundabout onto Junction Road and then turn right at Castle Street.  When you get to the top of Castle Street turn right onto Broad Street and drive past the St Magnus Cathedral across the bottom of Palace Road and onto Victoria Street (one-way street) and the hotel is on your left hand side.

FROM FERRY TERMINAL, ST MARGARET’S HOPE

When leaving the ferry terminal turn left follow the road through St Margaret’s Hope Village.  Turn left on to the A961 at the top of the village.  This will take you over all four of the Churchhill barriers.  Follow the road through Burray, Glimps Holm, Lambs Holm and onto the Mainland.  When you reach Kirkwall, follow the Holm Road turn left on to Bignold Park Road.  Follow down on to Dundas Crescent and then on to Palace Road.  The St Magnus Cathedral will be on the right hand side when you drive down Palace Road.  Once you reach the bottom of Palace Road, you should turn left into Victoria Street (one-way street) and the hotel is on your left hand side.

FROM FERRY TERMINAL, HATSTON INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

When leaving the ferry terminal turn left and follow the Grainshore Road at the end turn right and then left at the Ayre Mills filling station and go along Pickaquoy Road.  Turn left at the roundabout onto Junction Road and then turn right at Castle Street.  When you get to the top of Castle Street turn right onto Broad Street and drive past the St Magnus Cathedral across the bottom of Palace Road and into Victoria Street (one-way street) and the hotel is on your left hand side.

FROM ST. MAGNUS CATHEDRAL

The Orkney Hotel is located at 40 Victoria Street, approximately a three-minute walk from the St. Magnus Cathedral.  If arriving by car, Victoria Street is an extension of Broad Street and is one-way. From the St. Magnus Cathedral (Broad St. and Palace Rd.), head south on Victoria Street, pass Spence’s newsagent and you will find the hotel several buildings down on the left.

DIRECTIONS TO ORKNEY HOTEL CAR PARK

From front of hotel, drive south (one-way) on Victoria Street. Turn left up Victoria road (next to British Red Cross). At top, turn left, then a second left onto Buttquoy crescent. At the bottom of Buttquoy Crescent, turn right onto Watergate, then a quick left into car park. (you will see curved wall leading into car park). Please park on the left side.
